time to blog again!

So it's been a long time since i have blogged, sorry! I guess i've been busy, and stuck in snow with no internet, and traveling, etc and that just means that you get to read a super long blog today!

So the snow came, and came, and came and wouldn't stop so we had over 2 feet by the time i managed to get out and on my way to Oregon. We were pretty much snowed in and we would walk to the grocery store when we needed stuff, it's a 4 mile walk total in ice or knee deep snow it was really fun and i was glad for the chance to walk because i couldn't get to the gym and would have gone crazy being stuck in the house. It was beautiful, absolutely beautiful i loved it, until i realised that if it didn't stop soon i wouldn't be able to get out and go home for christmas.

Last friday was the ONLY clear day before we were to get another 2 weeks of non-stop snow. My amazing boss and her husband went a dug me out so that i would be able to get home, i seriously can never thank them enough for helping me! So i made it out and went into town so i could get gas and run to the bank that took an hour instead of just 20 minutes. It was so weird there was a lot of ice and snow on the road and we would hear sirens and couldn't tell where they were coming from until they were right next to us and they would be driving down the wrong side of the road because those people were able to get over and we weren't, it was crazy. After the errands were run and i got onto the freeway i thought it would be all easy driving and i'd be home in a few hours, it normally takes 6 hours to get home and i figured it would take maybe 8 because of snow...haha well i was in for a nice cool (as in COLD) surprise! Just 20 miles down the road my window on my nice new car started to roll down and wouldn't roll up so i just left it it was only down less than an inch, and then it started slowly falling an inch, two inches, four, half way and then it just fell all the way down! Ahhhh it was 30 degrees and sooo cold. It wouldn't roll up and 5 hours later freezing cold and watching the snow begin to fall again i went to Maurices and bought a hat, a hat with ear flaps that was fir lined! I wasn't anywhere near home yet so i called a friend and 2 hours later i arrived at her house, it should have took4hours took me 7. I was tired and cold but so thankful to be there, they all came out and i was hugged and then they asked if they could just touch my cheek and see how cold it was! lol they though it was cold but they should have felt it before the hat! anyways i got into the house and was offered warm soup and a nice warm bed, it was so wonderful!

The next morning they helped me fix my window, which was an adventure of it's own! lol Lisa's dad was working on it and he managed to get the first panel off the door but there was another one that we just couldn't get off so Lisa and i decided to go and "help". We came up with a brilliant idea (he thought it was crazy) to fix the window. Oh in the second panel that wouldn't come off there was two holes that we could see the window when we looked at them and they were pretty big and we discovered that i could reach down where the window was supposed to come up and feel the window but i wasn't able to get a grip on it to pull it up so this is where the brilliant plan comes in..... we decided that we would use suction cups and put them on the window and push it up and i'd grab it and keep it from sliding and we'd keep doing this until we got the window out! So lisa goes sprinting into the house to grab the suction cups that hold her razor in the shower and the one for her sisters and come running back out, (her dad is laughing at us the whole time) and we set to work. Three minutes later screaming could be heard "i have a window, i have a window!" We then left her dad to finish up and we went to take pictures in the snow. Once it was done i packed my bags and headed out, supplied with tire chains, and a bag of m&m's (in case it got stressful and i needed some chocolate). I was feeling pretty optimistic that i'd make it at least an hour...

Mom called me 20 minutes later to see if i was on the road and i very cheerfully told her yes, yes i was and i was going a whole 40 mph down I-5 and i wasn't sliding around too bad and i'd only seen 3 cars off the road so far.... another half hour later i get another phone call " i just heard that you were on the road and wanted to see if you were ok. Apparently there was a big storm and everyone thought i was crazy to be driving but i wasn't turning back i only had an hour (so i thought) of driving left! Ok i started digging into the m&m's by portland when the roads were covered in snow and i couldn't see any lane lines and traffic wasn't going above 20 mph. A few minutes later i made a phone call to another friend and then called mom and told her that no i wouldn't be home that day it was too crazy out. I made it to the fileners half a bag of m&m's later and found out that i wasn't the only one stuck there, we had quite a party of people that were traveling and couldn't go any further. It was pretty fun i was stuck there for 2 days and then the boys knowing how badly i was wanting to get home and see my family put the chains on my tires and followed me home in a big truck all ready to pull me out of the ditch if i went off the road. I did make it safely and i have never never in my life been so thankful for good friends as i was those 4 days!

So now i'm in cali at grandma's having fun and hanging out! So far nothing too exciting to report except that kevin is here and seeing him again has been a lot of fun! big brothers are special!
